  • The capital of India has a fascinating history and a stimulating presence. believed to be the same Inderprastha described in the "Mahabharat", Delhi has been the seat of power of a number of dynasties-the Rajputs, the Muslim invaders from the North, the Afghan dynasties followed by the Tughlaqs, the Sayaids, the Lodis and the Mughals- who continued the imperial line, until the British days.

    The old city, built by Shah Jehan in the 17th century, stands today as an epitome of the whole history of Indo-Islamic architecture. New Delhi designed and constructed by Sir Edwin Lutyens and Sir Herbert Baker is a mixture of east and west. The public buildings in red sandstone are in the Mughal style. It has a circular Parliament House and an imposing Central Secretariat in two blocks which stand at the approaches to Rashtrapati Bhavan-the residence of the President of India. Delhi is today the political, economic and cultural capital of the world's largest democracy and has also become one of the greatest tourist centres of the world.

    • Drive past Safdarjung Tomb (1753 A.D), and visit the Qutub Minar - 72 meters high and one of the perfect towers of the Persian World.

    • Nearby, amidst the ruins of the Quwut-ul-islam Mosque stands the iron pillar which has stood the vagaries of the weather and not rusted over 1500 years.

    • Visit Humayun's Tomb (1565 A.D) appropriately called the predecessor of Taj Mahal.

    • An orientation drive through New Delhi includes the Embassy area (Diplomatic Enclave), Government Buildings (1921-30 A.D)

    • Finally drive past Jantar-Mantar – the Astronomical Observatory (1717 A.D) and through Connaught Place - New Delhi's main shopping centre.

About Venue

The International Exhibition Convention Centre (IECC) – Bharat Mandapam is a venue for large exhibitions and conventions in the city of New Delhi, India. It has an area of nearly 150 acres of exhibition space, being among the biggest exhibition centers in India.

It is owned, operated, controlled and managed by India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO), the trade promotion agency of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.

ITPO is now implementing its ambitious plan of re-development of its landmark fairground Pragati Maidan, involving a modern state-of-the-art International Exhibition-cum-Convention Centre (IECC) in two phases, bringing it at par with the best Exhibition and Convention Centres across the world.

The temperatures during the monsoon season are relatively lower, ranging from 25°C to 35°C (77°F to 95°F).

    • Post-Monsoon (October to November): After the monsoon season, New Delhi experiences post-monsoon weather, characterized by warm and pleasant days. Temperatures start to decrease gradually, making it an ideal time for outdoor activities.
